The Minolta 100-400 APO is another great telephoto zoom. Most zoom lenses of this specification have limitations and Minolta's version is no exception. Except some CA at the long end and imperfect sharpness wide open. For the range and cost it can't be beat. The Sony 70-400 is better, but it is also US$1600!
